BabyGirl at the “Buster” and the “Bear” (Part Four of Four): Beyond Expectations

When time is limited, we tend to focus in on the moments as opposed to the events, making the most of each of them.

And what we discover is that the memories we keep are the ones which are born in those tiny moments.  Even if we accomplish all that we set out to do, what we retain is where we were, who we were with and what it felt like when the experience went Beyond Expectations.

The Big City moves at the speed of light.  Whether it’s up on the streets or down in the transit system, the largest city in America gets things done and it does so quickly.

An At-First-Sight Exchange, Dave n Buster’s and Build-a-Bear had filled the weekend full all ready with moments that weren’t so little, when feeling little was the power of the dynamic in emotion.

And for a little heart, such a dynamic can make each emotion feel powerful and quick … just like the pace of the speed of light.

Meeting two ABDL friends, Gus and Squish, we left the Build-a-Bear, traveling a circuit of transit which would’ve taken a seasoned tour guide to navigate.  But we didn’t have a seasoned tour guide.  We had someone much better and tailor-made for Esperanza’s first “face-to-face” with others of-the-interest.

We had Squish.

And he, along with another incredible joe – Gus (or the Gus-Buster, as I call him), took her first meeting with others beyond expectations.  Sitting in a pizza shoppe in the dead middle of “Somewhere” in the Big City, she began to recognize how amazing she was for having such a unique perspective on the non-vanilla side to life.  Prior to meeting others, the feeling of one’s self is often that of being outcasted from the norm.  Esperanza was shedding that train of thought.

Squish and Gus are two of the nicest people you will ever meet.  The fact that they are ABDL-ers is icing on the cake only. When you meet people who go well with you, friendship is inevitable.  When you begin to discover the less-than-ordinary things which you have in common, the friendship becomes bonding in a manner … beyond expectations.

And when people surpass expectations together, their friendship hits the ground running like they had been buddies for years all ready.

Being the eternal sightseer and tourist, Espy, Gus and Squish appeased me by taking me through a series of transit to wind up at Madison Square Gardens.

It truly belonged in that Big City, being yet another place which seemed larger than life.  Massive tall banners displayed the past events for which MSG hosted in legacy.  One in particular which caught my eye was a banner from Wrestlemania 1 back in 1985 and the image of Hulk Hogan branded on it.

And for the first time in all my trips to the Big City, I actually felt little myself as I reminisced my childhood obsession with wrestling and Hulkamania.

Back to the Transit Underworld we went to say goodbye to Squish as he headed off to the exchange which took him home.  We returned to the surface and greeted the falling rain as we navigated our way to Times Square.

Esperanza was as beautiful as always, even as the rain fell and dampened her hair.  There were so many little moments which made for memories – and all of them would be retained in my heart, but born in her eyes.

These seem like a simple pair of pink and orange flip flops, don’t they?

But the story behind them is anything but simple.  And they served as proof that a lifetime can be found in a instant, if you pay enough attention to it.

After the shoes she was wearing had rubbed her ankles raw, we began searching for something else to dress her “piddies”. From one store to the next, nothing  was found until she walked into a tourist shop which sold those flip flops.

But to get her soaked and irritating shoes off her feet, we shared a moment I wish I would’ve captured with my camera:

I had Espy lay on the ground in the middle of the store as I worked the shoes off her feet, the second shoe being the most difficult to get off her foot – made a little more challenging by our laughter.

But success was found and as we walked away from that store, the memory produced a question and an answer at the same time.

We were certainly a spectacle, but the store keeper’s fascination wasn’t with what we were doing.  Rather, his inquisitive look may have been a bit more directed at why she was diapered.

Our next destination was one that was a dream for ABDL-ers and all those who are little at heart … the 3-story Toys R Us in Times Square …

… Complete with an Arcade on the Upper Level.

Gus and Espy made a bee-line for the arcade, having both found success recently at the Deal or No Deal game.  The temptation was great and so was the pending challenge, one for which they eagerly welcomed.

 …………………….

Their dynamic duo efforts awarded them tickets as the déjà vu of Dave n Buster’s produced the bag of candy they won and would share.

Before we left the Toys R Us, I found a sippy cup which I absolutely had to buy.  On this cup was the white unicorn that she should’ve received as her girl toy in the happy meal she got at McDonald’s the night prior.  She was gonna get that unicorn and I was gonna see to it personally.

One final touch to the memories was the balloon doggy she made herself.  I knew of her attraction to balloon animals and fascination with those who had that ability.  What I didn’t know was that she could do it herself.  I don’t doubt her capabilities of anything in life.  She is brilliant and her future will continue to open up for her.  Being a balloon-tying little girl was beyond my expectations.

When you find yourself stripped of pride and your heart feels left for the forgotten, your worth becomes reclusive inside yourself.  You learn to re-evaluate the effects people from your past have had on you – some which you allowed to happen and others which you didn’t see coming.

When you re-surface from your emotions, you have a perspective which only allows you to believe and expect so much.

The smallest gestures become paramount and the love of a lil girl’s hand placed across a heart can heal and give new life to the unexpecting.

That is Esperanza … and she is Beyond Expectations.
